What’s your favorite family tradition?

When I was growing up, on Christmas Eve, my mom would make oyster stew and the people that didn’t like oyster stew would have chicken noodle soup. I believe it is a tradition of a shepard’s light meal at the time of Jesus’ birth. After dinner, we would attend Mass,  my dad would take us out to look at Christmas lights and Santa would come while we were gone.  That night we were able to open one present from under the Christmas tree.

You’re an artist, what’s your favorite medium to work in? Least
favorite?

Right now, my favorite is acrylic. I love the water-soluble aspect of it, and that it comes in a variety of colors and thicknesses, from ink-like to paste. It’s easy use other media with it. I don’t like anything toxic or too messy – for example, oil based spray paint.

Do you have a favorite myth or fairytale?

The lion and the mouse, the
one where the mouse frees the lion from danger and they get along in the end.
It’s really cute!

Do you prefer books or movies?

At this time in my life, movies. I see good aspects in both, but it’s fun to go to the movies. All your senses are transported. Reading is good, too, because you  use your imagination to bring the book to life.

What’s something you like to do the ‘old-fashioned way’ every
time?

I still take notes on paper, writing to-do lists, even though I have a computer and an iPhone. I just like writing things down, maybe because I doodle a little too sometimes!

What’s a movie you can watch over and over again?

Blade Runner. I love that
one. Love Harrison Ford.

What are your top three favorite holidays?

I would say Thanksgiving,
Christmas, Easter. Most people try  to come home for those. I love when
everybody gets together.  My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is that the
pressure of gift-giving just isn’t there. We just all have a good time eating
and talking; enjoying the few times everyone can be together. It’s my husband’s
favorite holiday.

What’s your favorite kind of weather?

I like cloudy weather. It’s special to have a cloudy day in Arizona. I have taken quite a few photos of clouds. I’m from Iowa, so we had a variety of  seasonal weather with fewer sunny days.  At that time, I wanted less rain and snow, but now I love clouds.

What are your bucket list destinations?

Paris, Ireland, Spain, Bahamas, Fiji, that kind of thing. Someplace to relax.

If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be?

I love dogs, I have two dogs. They’re a lot of fun, they have this energy. They’re always so loving and protective.
