Dazzling Array: The Richard A. Gates Collection of Native American Jewelry

Ongoing

Dazzling Array: The Richard A. Gates Collection of Native American Jewelry is an elaborate collection of necklaces, cuffs, and more made by artists such as Larry Golsh, Charles Loloma, and Jesse Monongya, to name just a notable few.

Less than a year ago, the museum began working with collector Richard (Rick) A. Gates. His pride in Western Spirit led him to honor Native American contemporary jewelers whose inspiration undoubtedly came from their predecessors, many of whom got their start in greater Scottsdale. Mr. Gates has kept to his visionary goal of assembling an exquisite and elaborate collection.

We thank Mr. Gates for extending his passion for the West and collection of contemporary Native American jewelry; both benefiting Western Spirit and its constituents for generations to come and, foremost, inspire emerging Native American artists by the innovation expressed in the collection.
