Have you ever been in a museum and wished you had an opportunity to challenge yourself and draw some of the museum’s collection?
The Scottsdale Artists’ School and Scottsdale’s Museum of the West are offering a rare opportunity for artists of all levels to participate in a six-hour pencil drawing class in the museum’s galleries. Under the guidance of an instructor, participants can explore techniques from expressive gesture drawing to tips on creating a three-dimensional drawing. Class begins with a discussion on drawing materials, and then explores positive and negative space, seeing values and edges, and tips on using form to draw objects. Students new to drawing, or who wish to have an organized approach to drawing, should expect their work to improve during the course of this class.
Pre-registration is required through Scottsdale Artists’ School. The fee is $90 plus a $10 materials fee, which includes museum admission. Visit http://scottsdaleartschool.org/course/drawing-at-western-spirit-scottsdales-museum-of-the-west-scottsdale-az/ to register.
