Members’ Exhibition Preview & Reception — Photographs By Barry M. Goldwater: The Arizona Highways Collection

On Sat., Jan. 5 from 4-7 p.m., museum members are invited to a special Members’ Exhibition Preview and Reception Photographs by Barry M. Goldwater: The Arizona Highways Collection. 

Barry Goldwater (1909-1998) is best known as a U.S. senator, a man who dedicated his life to Arizona and was a gifted photographer. He was one of Arizona Highways magazine’s first and foremost photographers and his favorite subjects included the Grand Canyon and the Native peoples of Northern Arizona. In collaboration with the Barry & Peggy Goldwater Foundation and Arizona Highways magazine, Scottsdale’s Museum of the West is proud to premiere Photographs by Barry M Goldwater: The Arizona Highways Collection presented by SRP. This exhibition will feature the largest collection of photographs by Senator Goldwater and include intimate family photos and personal items. The exhibition runs Jan. 6 – June 23, 2019. A Special Opening Ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. Complimentary beverages and light hors d’oeuvres will be served. RSVPs are required. If you are a member, please make your reservation by calling the museum’s Visitor Services desk during museum business hours at 480-686-9539 ext. 200 by Dec. 27. Please note that the Visitor Services phone line is not monitored after-hours or on Mondays, when the museum is closed.
