On September 27, children and their parents/guardians are invited to attend a special day at the museum exclusively for homeschooled students. Drop in any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a unique opportunity to explore the artwork of two contemporary western artists.
- In the gallery featuring the exhibition “John Coleman: Past/Present/Future” (on view starting September 17), children will explore the tools of the artist through paintings and sculptures by one of the nation’s most highly regarded contemporary artists.
- Using a large floor map and the 100-painting exhibition by Charles Fritz (“Inspirational Journey: The Story of Lewis and Clark”) for reference, children will trace the journey of the Corps of Discovery on its historic exploration of the American West.
A special $5 per person admission fee will be available for parents/caregivers and children on this day. Museum members with a duo/household level membership or above will be admitted to the Homeschool Day activities free of charge.
