FIELD TRIPS

Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West provides a unique opportunity for your students to experience western culture and art, while educating, inspiring, and engaging them to learn about the West.

SUBJECT AREAS

Our tours provide content to supplement instruction in the subject areas of:

– American History
– Western Studies (19 western states)
– Visual and Language Arts
– Science (energy-efficient construction techniques and systems)

MUSEUM EXPERIENCES

  • A 100-painting exhibition by artist Charles Fritz illustrating the historic and exciting story of the Lewis and Clark expedition
  • Hundreds of western artifacts including spurs, bits, saddles, rodeo equipment and other items
  • Multi-media kiosks featuring informative narratives and stories
  • Historic early western art
  • The architectural and energy-efficient features of our building, which meet the highest standards for sustainability and conservation of natural resources
  • Age-appropriate children’s scavenger/treasure hunts
  • Interactive educational activities and games
