With an overarching theme of “Find Yourself in the West,” families are drawn into the essence of the American West— past and present—guided on interactive journeys to discover the beauty, reality, and lore found in western art; authentic cultural artifacts; riveting personal stories; and engaging media technologies.

Saturday, December 10 | 10 a.m. — Enjoy a 10 a.m. screening of this cherished holiday film starring Tom Hanks, based on the book by Chris Van Allsburg. Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., kids can participate in a silver bell scavenger hunt, make-and-take crafts and games.

Friday, February 10 | 12-3 p.m. — Experience living history when the oldest officially sanctioned Pony Express in the world thunders into town to deliver the mail to U.S. Postal Service representatives at the museum’s front steps. Meet the riders (and horses!) and enjoy activities inside and outside the museum. Free activities will be offered.
